Roundhay Art Trail – 27 April 2014

We can confirm on Sunday 27th April, local artists will open their working spaces and studios to visitors, from 10.00am until 4.30pm.

The Roundhay Art Trail is being organised to demonstrate and show the diverse talents of professional visual artists working in Roundhay. The trail will include artwork in a wide range of styles including, paintings, sculpture, jewellery and textiles.

The aim of the event is to raise the profile of visual arts in Leeds LS8. Some artworks may be available for sale on the day or by commission.

Artists from numerous disciplines have now signed up to show their process in their workspaces and these include Mark Sofalis who produces vibrant paintings which are inspired by the rugged beauty of Yorkshire, in particularly the fishing villages and harbours of the heritage coast.

Jon Voglar makes sculpture in stone, wood, bronze and non-traditional materials. The garden in Roundhay demonstrates the charm of sculpture in an intimate space. Recently Jon has started casting (in his garage!) small bronze figures of animals and athletes. He will be hosting Jo Dunn’s intuitive water colours in his summer house .

There will be a route map with the profiles of the participating artists and this will be available to download from Roundhay Live website. Copies will also be available at Oakwood Library and Oakwood farmers market on the 15th March and 19th April.
